
With a pending name change and rebrand on the horizon, University Street Ministry knew the time was right to partner with BHV Design Lab to design and develop a new website. The nonprofit organization began in 1986 when nurses from University of Washington noticed that homeless youth were entering the emergency room severely malnourished. What began as one night of food for hungry youth blossomed into seven nights of healthy dinners, every week of the year. They added Support Coordination and Street Outreach to help homeless youth find their path away from street. Despite the over-arching organization name of University Street Ministry, most people knew and referred to the program as Teen Feed.
When BHV first met with the team at Teen Feed, we looked at their existing website and discussed what was working and what wasn’t. Teen Feed needed additional functionality that would allow them to easily edit the content themselves and keep the messaging fresh.
